FAQ
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. There is seldom anyone at the studio if there are no bookings. Appointments allow us to focus on your needs and concerns to serve you better.
How long does it take for my item to be ready?
Typically, turn around is a week or less. Perhaps 2 weeks for gowns during prom/event seasons. Let me know your deadline as I can often accommodate a day or two. Rush items when possible at a slightly higher price.
How much does it cost to hem my dress (or any item?)
Price is based on time and materials. The more info you can provide about the item, the better price range I can offer. Basic jeans and dress pants begin at $20 plus HST.
What type of payment do you accept?
Cash, cheque payable to Creations By Tracy, or e-transfer. We do not accept debit or credit.
Do I need to pay in advance?
Never. Full payment is required at pick-up.
Does hemming mean taking in?
No. Hemming means shortening only. It’s the only service we provide.
Do I need to know or do anything special before my appointment?
If pre-wash is possible, that helps for shrinkage. Also shoes and belts are helpful.
Do fittings cost extra?
Never, we want to get it right.
Do you also do repairs? Other alterations?
No. Just hemming. No repairs, resizing, redesigning custom work. Just shortening, that’s all, to accommodate higher volume with faster turnaround times.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! Members or the military and corrections Canada employees receive 15% off their orders.
Are orders subject to additional HST?
No, all prices and quotes already have HST included.
What if I want to know the price in advance for something more unique like a wedding gown?
You can book a no-obligation fitting for gowns, etc. We can discuss exactly what you like and if the price doesn’t suit your budget, that’s not a problem.
